PS3 Slim

Sony has officially announced that the much rumored PS3 Slim will not only be released on September 1st, but will also see a $100 price drop.

The specs on the machine remain largely the same, with the biggest difference coming in the form factor of the device. The standard hard drive will also see a bump up, going from 80GB to 120GB. The device is still said to play all manner of media, including Blu-ray movies, DVDs, CDs, as well as streamed media from PCs or other media servers.

The PS3 Fat will also see a price drop to $299, but with the slim new looks, it will definitely be worth waiting for the PS3 Slim.
