Trader Vic’s Mai Tai Recipe
We’ve finally cracked the code on the famous Trader Vic’s Mai Tai.
After many failed attempts to find the right ingredients to duplicate the deliciously dangerous Trader Vic’s Mai Tai, we’ve finally come up with a recipe that does the Trader justice. However, be forewarned, this cocktail should be respected and you shouldn’t have more than a few until you’ve proven you can handle yourself!
Ingredients:
- 4 oz Appleton Special Jamaica gold rum
- 4 oz Appleton Estates Jamaica dark rum
- 1 oz Myers’s dark rum
- 2 oz Curaçao
- 1 oz Simple syrup
- 1 oz Orgeat syrup
- 2 oz Fresh lime juice
- .5 oz Grenadine
- 2 oz Orange juice
Garnish:
- 4 Pineapple spears
- 4 Sprigs of fresh mint
- 4 Maraschino cherries
Directions:
In a large pitcher, combine all of the ingredients according to the measurements above and stir well. Fill 4 rocks glasses with shaved ice and fill each glass with the drink mixture. Garnish with fresh mint sprig, pineapple spear, cherry, and serve.
